Got Lice? Not for long!

My daughter has lice and I just finished doing the whole RID routine (shampoo, gel, and comb) but I still see eggs in her hair. Are they dead? and how can i get them all out? Her hair is pretty thin and fine and some of the eggs seem to be stuck on the hair. Please help.

Ok I am 16 and my sister is 12, we have both been dealing with head lice since December 07 (so for over a year, more like a year and 3 months…). We have tried everything:
OTC shampoo
Prescription shampoo
Vacuuming
Putting stuffed animals in bags
Washing bedding
Good nit combs ( http://www.shopinprivate.com/riddualcomsy.html )
Putting lots of conditioner in our hair
Putting baby oil in our hair
Using tea tree oil
Boiling hairbrushes, nit combs… after we used them
ect… (you name it, we have tried it)

Seriously it is nasty and I dk what to do anymore. I thought they were basically gone until today in the shower I felt something and I found one on my arm (gross). I have been hanging at my friends house a lot lately sitting on there furniture playing video games and I am so afraid that I spread them to them too… Also at school I was wearing this guys hat (I figured my lice was all but gone and that the guy has basically a shaved head anyways so there would be no problems…) but then this little girl kept taking the hat from me and wearing it, I would be so upset if I spread these to this girl too…

I bet you are wondering how we have been going to school, right?? We told our school when we discover our problem (after winter break) and the school just told us to come back, never checked our heads or anyone else heads for that matter (I think they might have checked my sisters head like once) or never sent home a note or anything…

It is nasty I know. These bugs that we find are little (about 1cm or less, some are bigger some are smaller) and they are brown. Seriously are these even head lice… If not what could they be?? Please help, any other suggestions of how to get rid of these nasty things??

Ps. If you are just going to tell me how nasty this is or suggest what we have already done (the list above) please do not even bother to answer. Thank you SO much to anyone who can actually help!!
Oh yeah please do not suggest shaving our heads either (seriously if you were in middle/high school and a girl would you shave your head, I didn’t think so…)

And what exactly is the doctor going to do, besides give us more prescription shampoo??

We just got back from the doctors and my 6 year old daughter has nits (lice eggs) we bought all the stuff today to put in her hair. My question is im going through and washing all of her bedding, sheets etc… but do i need to pull all of her close out of her dresser and closet and wash them!??? I read that the louse (head lice bugs) cannot jump or fly. Does this mean i am cleared from washing all of her clothes!?

my 6 year old daughter woke up this morning scratching her head so i checked to see what was bothering her since her friend had lice about 2 weeks ago. she had a bunch of live lice walking around the back of her head right by her neck and ears. so my husband went out and bought the lice kit with shampoo, egg remover, spray for furniture and cars. and a nit comb. i did all that and later on checked her head because she started scratching again, and she still has a bunch of egss that i can’t remove they are stuck.what can i do to get rid of them????? i washed everybody’s bedding back packs nothing is helping. her scalp is all red . i’m waiting for her doctor to call me back but it’s taking to long and want some advice now until the doc calls me back. thanks in advance

My lil sister has such a bad scalp. She gets her hair washed about 3 times a week, and the very next day her scalp is flaky. Im talking really big scaly patches. She has a head full of gorgeous hair, but im scared it’s going to start breaking off due to the condition of her scalp. She doesnt have lice (never has), and her dermatologist told her it was psoriasis and gave her a medicated shampoo that did NOT work. She’s tried Head & Shoulders & Selsun blue, & they work temporarily but then her scalp goes right back! Its really really bad. WHAT CAN I DO FOR HER??

I’m pregnant, probably about a month, and I have head lice and I have proof because for the past few days I’ve been finding little brown bugs on my pillow.

What’s an effective and SAFE way to get rid of this fast? And is it possible to use over-the-counter treatment without it hurting my baby?

Haha, I just got head lice, I had sex a while ago, I’m around a month pregnant. xD

Thanks everyone, I just figured since you can’t dye your hair, you may not be able to use scalp/lice treatment stuff. xD

OK so my child Anastasia, she got a case of head lice from one of her friends at school. for about 4 months we have been treating it and treating it, with everything from store products, to mayo treatments, and we even died her hair a different color thinking that would surly kill them but after each treatment a couple of days later she is itching her head again and there back! please help my daughter is getting really sad that they are not leaving and i need a way to get rid of them. please help me its so hard trying to deal with them. and i am not going to shave her head thats not an option, im sorry i could just not do that to her with all this she has been through i just cant. thank you so much for your answers. I just realized I have lice! gross! I think I got it at the airport yesterday. I looked at a picture of it today & I nearly threw up! I need it gone. Would dying my hair kill the lice??? I washed it 3 times today already! I can’t get to sleep knowing i have a bunch of gross little bugs crawling on my head. I am going to dye my hair tomorrow and hopefully it will kill it, should I take a flee bath???? any suggestions on getting rid of it fast??? thanks soo much

I just got a notice that my 4 year old daughter has head lice?? What are the best and fastest ways to get rid of it?? I don’t want her to miss too much school because she loves it and it would be pretty punishing her.

I think i have head lice because of red bumps on my head and my hair constantly feels itchy. I have tried mayo and lice treatment shampoos but when i comb through my hair i don’t find live lice or nits…
i got my mom to check my hair and she says theres nothing there, but i’m pretty sure i have lice..
When you comb through your hair infested with lice are you supposed to find live lice? or am i just combing my hair wrong?
