    TRY THIS!
The removal of head lice from a victim’s head as well as the removal from home and personal items can be testing. The most important part of any lice removal regimen is to treat the victim with a pediculicide . The use of a pediculicide along with careful combing and clean-up will result in successful lice removal.
After using a pediculicide, combing the hair and removing the dead lice and nits is imperative. Use a fine-toothed lice comb to remove the lice and nits by carefully and slowly starting at the nape of the neck and moving forward. Often, sectioning the hair off and moving inch by inch is a successful practice of combing. Using an additional conditioner or detangler may also be helpful in the combing process as many chemical pediculicides can cause the hair to be dry and brittle. Self-medication and self-combing is not a good idea, as a second person is required to effectively comb-out lice and eggs.
    Clean-up after an infestation
Cleaning up after a head lice infestation is a tedious, but significant step in lice removal. Wash all bedding and clothing that the victim has been in contact with in hot water (at least 125° F). After washing, run all items through the dryer at the hottest setting for at least 30 minutes. Consider dry-cleaning items that cannot be washed and dried at home or place the items in a tightly sealed plastic bag for 10-14 days. Soaking all hair care items (such as combs, brushes, and hair clips) in hot water (at least 140° F) for at least 15 minutes is usually sufficient to kill any lice or eggs. Thorough vacuuming of the home, mattress, and furniture of the victim is also advised. Using bug bombs or garden insecticides in closed areas of the home is not recommended.
    ALSO THIS
If you have a head lice problem, wash your hair w/ vinegar, It’ll kill all of the nits and adults in two days. Apply coconut oil to your head after shampoo and conditioner. Also, rub listerine mouth wash on your head, it will kill all the lice instantaniously. Massage your head with mayonaise, and comb and reapply every 2 hours. it will kill all the lice and their eggs. Also applu a mix of lemon and butter on your head, wait 15 sec,. and rinse your head.
I had lice once, and these are all of the things I tried, my friends have gotten lice too, and they tried all of these things, and it worked for them

Do another treatment- a good one is MOOV. Ask at your chemist, they’ll give you a good one. After the treatment, cover her hair in conditioner and leave it for 20 minutes (It suffocates them) and then get a head live come (One of those combs that have the bristle things really close) And comb through her hair, dipping the comb in boiling water when lice get stuck in it. The next day, wash her hair and put vinegar through it for 20 minutes. Wash her sheets, doona cover and pillow cases and hats. After all this there is no way she will still have lice!

The best soloutions are:1 fine tooth comb on wet hair and keep a bowl of water nearby to drown the lice caught on comb
2 :Use a lice killing lotion available at any pharmacy
    3:shave the head
4:make the child sit in sunlight or any heat souce the lice surface up and then catch them with fine tooth comb or fingers and drown them

I use the Robi Comb. http://www.liceguard.com/robicomb.aspx
It’s not a shampoo or anything, and it can be time consuming because you have to use it every day for 2 weeks but this is what worked for me when NOTHING else did. The bugs become immune to the chemicals in the shampoo. This article just came out recently http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26627227/
Good luck, I know how hard it can be (I have 4 girls).

When my little sister and I had them she sat us with our head in her lap and picked them out every night and out them in water maybe to keep them from jumping and spreading. She put ALL our toys in big black garbage bags and kept them in the car for a week and washed them all after that. Good luck!

You either have to use a treatment like Nic or go through her hair with a fine tooth comb and pick them all out.
    Good luck

I have been going through this with my daughter for the last week and a half. I bought the treatment shampoo and nit comb, and spray for the furniture and washed every thing that could be washed in the washer and that got rid of them for a few days until she came home one day from school with them again, so I did some home remedies after the treatment shampoo and combing, menthol shaving cream for an hour or so, then rinse and use the nit comb, and then use olive oil, comb through the hair, and let it sit for 3 hours rinse and shampoo and used the nit comb again, then I dried her hair completely with a hair dryer, so far no lice or nits have been found.

I cannot stand the little critters, every day when my son comes home from school i check his hair, regardless of whether or not he has them, every second day in the bath, i shampoo his hair, and then put conditioner with tea tree oil in it, and use a lice comb through it. He has only had them twice and his school is rampent with them. Tea tree oil stuns the lice making it easier to get them out. I use it on my nieces who have long hair. but conditioner will also leave their hair really soft and shiny afterwards unlike the smelly residue of the chemical lotions available.
I havent tried this one, but i have read in a magazine (that’s life in Australia)
    Quote:
    Wonder Food
A safe and natural way to kill head lice is to use mayonnaise.
Cover the entire scalp and hair with mayonnaise.
Cover with plastic wrap and leave on for half an hour.
Shampoo and remove all the lice and eggs.
You can also use vinegar. dip the lice comb in the vinegar and comb through the hair, i have found this hurts as it doesnt let the comb go through the hair as easily.

In addition to the treatment you are using, also wash their hair in tea tree shampoo and conditioner each day – lice hate the stuff. Buying tea tree shampoo and conditioner can be expensive, but you can just buy the oil and add it to a bottle of standard shampoo and conditioner. Also, you can add the oil to spray bottles of water and use this when you comb their hair each morning – it’s a fantastic preventative measure during head lice season.
Also, while you use the nit combs to comb their hair, it doesn’t always get everything off, so you need to go through it manually with the comb and check every single hair and pull any eggs off with your fingers if you find any. It is a very tedious process, but it does work.
And don’t forget to follow up the treatment in about a week – if you don’t get all the nits, and they hatch, you will have another infestation on your hands. They are absolutely tiny a week later, and are too young to lay any eggs yet, so it’s the best time to use the treatment again to kill them all off.
With bedding, etc, just put it out in the sun for a few hours – head lice can’t survive off the scalp for more than 6 hours, so you don’t need to go ballistic, but certainly keep them away from carpets and bedding for about 6 hours so any lice that have jumped off their heads are dead. I would still wash out the bedding (just the thought that there may be lice there gives me the creeps), but you don’t need to do any of it in special solutions – standard washing powder will be fine.
You should also check heads in the rest of the family, including yourself. When my kids had it, we just treated the entire family just to be on the safe side.

First off, report it to your school. She may have gotten it from there. But if you don’t it will just keep going. When a friend ofmine had it she used, ove rthe counter thing Like RId and Nix worked wonders. Only had to do it tiwce. Wash everything in hot water. HOT water. not warm. put stuffed animal is bags for two weeks. With rid adn nix, you treat once(the whole family) then two weeks later repeat. My friend said it works well. Atleast it got rid of all hers. But you but vacuum wash sheets, basically spring cleaning times a BILLION…lol…good luck…..dont forget to report ti to the school. it may be why she got them again.

I’m not a parent but this remedy that my mum uses works EVERYTIME!
Ok, so you’re going to need the following items:
    - Mouthwash
    - Vinegar
    - Shower Cap/Plastic bag
What you need to do is put mouthwash in the child’s hair and massage it in from scalp to tip until full head is moist, sticky and mint smelling :P
Then you have to tie the hair in a plastic bag or put it in a shower cap (Much easier!) so that the mouthwash doesn’t drip TOO much on his/her neck and back. Not a good feeling. Wait 2 whole hours with th child’s hair in the plastic bag/ shower cap.
After two hours have passed, you can now take the plastic bag/shower cap off the child’s head and they can take a shower. They should wash off all the mouthwash. You’ll know when it’s all gone from the touch and smell.
Then when it’s done. You have the option to put vinegar in this time. It’ll make sure that the lice die, just incase there are remainders :(
Keep it in for about 10-30 minutes and wash it out again.
You still need to wash all of the hair ties, pillow cases, blankets, anything that can cause the lice to spread to other family members. Especially combs or brushes if the child has siblings and they share their things.
Now all you have to do is enjoy lice free hair! :)
