Everyone who is talking about the bedding problems, you should use fleece. it’s healthy, and more comfortable to the guinea pigs.:)

I dont think its mites because they are like impossible to see, my guinea pig had mites and i looked through his fur and never saw any little bug type things

It probably has mites (if you use wood chip bedding, its probably from that) i took mine to the vet yesterday and he has mites… he has several scabs (somtimes scratching so much it takes a while for the fur to grow back) but yes definately take it to a vet because it just gets worse and scars or gets infected if you wait

ATTENTION ALL GUINEA PIG OWNERS!If you use wood chip bedding (aspen/pine) then this might help you in the long run. my guinea pig (2 year old male) has had mites from the bedding or possibly from the pet store he is from (petland) so the vet bill was about $125 so i highly reccomend recycled paper bedding or newspaper (lining the bottom or in strips) mites cause itching/scratching leading to bleading and scabs/hair loss in certain patches of irritation. Thanks!
