to kill the lice just like that shave your head and wear a hat til it grows back.
ive had it too.
the thing that helped was
RID. i had to use 3 treatments but
eventually they went away. another
thing that helped was cutting my hair.
i had really long hair so we had to cut it
to make it easier to comb out the eggs and
lice. dont stress over it. they’ll go away if you
treat it.
do the poison treatment but then soak your hair in vinegar and comb out the nits, smells awful but it works.
also make sure you wash all sheets and furniture, put anything that can’t be washed (stuffed animals) in a CLOSED plastic bag for two weeks.
It sucks, good luck
I had this problem a long time ago, along with my 3 sisters. We tried all kinds of shampoos and treatments, nothing seemed to help. Finally my dad decided to get creative: he killed the lice with a hairdryer on high heat, then sucked them up with the vacuum hose.
A little weird, but it worked.
There is a treatment called LiceFreeeee. It works wonders. Also LiceFreeee is completly natural and chemical free.
I tried the RID and Nix on my 2 girls and we had to treat them so many times.
The other things is treat everyone all at the same time. They have gotten from your sister to you but you didnt have any signs yet. so treat everyone.
Last but just as important…..Wash bed sheets, pillows, vaccum beds, wash coats. And thing you put your head on wash or vaccum.
Oh after you treat your hair make sure to remove all the eggs from your hair using the small comb.
Yes, all these things will work. If you want a natural way to do it, keep reading. It sounds kinda gross, but mayonnaise (or salad dressing). You have to cover your ENTIRE head with it-all the way to your scalp. Cover your head with some sort of plastic bag and leave for 3-4 hours. Hey, I said it was kinda gross! Wash well, comb out the nits, and repeat if necessary. To prevent lice in the future, put tea tree oil in your shampoo or conditioner. This is proven to repel lice, smells pretty good, and is natural. Best of luck!
We just went through this at my house and I got some help reading these answers/searching online. I’m not quite sure what works and what doesn’t anymore! lol! The additional thing I suggest doing is to comb through the hair every night or every other night after doing the treatment. I read a routine of doing the treatment on day one, shampoo/combing out hair every night and doing the treatment again on day seven.
I tried Rid but that didn’t seem to help as much as Nix. A friend of mine said that Nix is suppose to stay in the hair as a protective coating (as long as you don’t use conditioner). Just when I thought we were in the clear, my daughter was reinfected. This time I tried the mayo treatment. coating the scalp and hair and wearing a shower cap overnight. I was skeptical but I give it a thumbs up. Definitely a weird smell but was not hard to wash out. I also washed as much as I could in hot water and dried on hot for at least 20 minutes. There is a ‘spray’ which I used on things I couldn’t wash (like seats in the car). I know some people don’t like the spray/don’t think they work/the chemicals are too harsh but I was willing to try anything!!
Hope some of this helps!
The safest home treatment for head lice is one that is contains completely natural ingredients. Steer clear from over the counter pesticide based preparations as they may not only be ineffective, but possibly unsafe. The reason your treatment is not working is because the head lice have become immune to them.
Luckily there are quite a few totally natural remedies available that readily kill head lice.
Suffocation is an effective method where oil based products (i.e.: conditioner) are used to block the breathing holes and kill the live lice. The real trick though is to find natural products that will kill both the live lice and their eggs in one fast effective treatment.
Remedies containing Neem Oil are known to be highly effective as Neem interrupts the growth and reproduction of the head louse. Neem’s insecticidal properties are widely recognized now and the oil is commonly available at your local health food store.
