Get Rid Of Lice Fast! Rotating Header Image

does anyone know any other method to kill head lice?

My daughter has severe head lice. We have used every single lice treatment, the sprays, washed everything in hot water, vacuumed, and tried the half vinegar and half rubbing alcohol thing. When it finally seems like Im getting somewhere, there they are again! I am going crazy! Please help me! We even had to cut 12 inches of her long beautiful hair, which is a mothers nightmare! could they be immune to the treatments? I just dont understand where they are coming from!

Maybe she is getting them repeatedly from school..vist your local health department. They will assist you .

Any over the counter medication for head lice should do the trick. What I am thinking is that she is getting re-infected.

Have you washed her bed sheets in hot water? have you cleaned the areas where she plays, her toys? vacuumed the carpet, etc.

Your whole house needs to be cleaned from top to bottom because she might have dropped some on the floor, the carpet, bed sheets, anywhere! forgot, after treating her for head lice you should fine comb her hair to take the eggs and the dead lice off.

    Good luck.

Have you disinfected all her combs, hairpins, clips, scarfs, head wear, etc?

Is there any other place where she lays her head, such as a couch, a certain pillow, blanket?

You are missing something that she is coming into contact with. The parasites are easily killed, but you have to get all of them or the cycle starts over again.

Does she spend any time out of the house at a friends house? Perhaps she is getting reinfected elsewhere.

MY son (6) got them from school and I used
Rid-didnt work. The I tried mayonnaise left
on two hours and that worked pretty good.
Also rinsing hair in full strength vinegar after
school. I have also heard that coconut oil works,
peppermint oil, using high heat on hair dryer
more than 5 min, flat iron near scalp, hair dye
works or bleach. I used the mayo and then
vinegar and it worked. Make sure to check
and recheck the head daily and get any eggs
out. Let me know if any of those work Good Luck

I have found that using hartz flea and tick shampoo works better then rid and medicated shampoos. I had lots of trouble when my girls were little. An old lady suggested the dog shampoo and I figured what the heck nothing has worked. That was the end of head lice at our house. Shampoo once and repeat a week later.

The ONLY safe way to get rid of head lice permanently is to use a totally natural alternative to the chemical shampoos then use prevention methods such as hairspray and tea tree mixed with water in a spray bottle every day to ensure they never return.

Before you listen to anyone advising you to use a pesticide treatment (over the counter shampoo) please consider the following:

No chemical head lice treatment is legally allowed to be labeled as ‘safe’ as every insecticide is a poison. They are also ineffective as head lice have become immune to them, as you have unfortunately found out

Luckily there are quite a few totally natural remedies available that readily kill head lice.

Suffocation is an effective method where oil based products (i.e.: conditioner) are used to block the breathing holes and kill the live lice. The real trick though is to find natural products that will kill both the live lice and their eggs in one fast effective treatment.

Remedies containing Neem Oil are known to be highly effective as Neem interrupts the growth and reproduction of the head louse. Neem’s insecticidal properties are widely recognized now and the oil is commonly available at your local health food store.
